The Cadaver's Capper is a community-created cosmetic item for the Soldier. It is a team-colored rounded hat similiar to the headwear of officials in Chinese Qing dynasty with a paper talisman attached to its front.
This item can only be worn around Halloween or during a Full Moon; at other times of the year, it does not appear in gameplay, unless the server has Halloween mode enabled. However, it can be equipped at any time and can still be viewed on the loadout screen even when it is not visible during games.
The Cadaver's Capper was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Update history
October 29, 2013 Patch (Scream Fortress 2013)
- The Cadaver's Capper was added to the game.
Trivia
- The shape of the hat and the type of talisman are commonly associated with Jiangshi ("僵尸"), or "Chinese Hopping Vampire".
- In the literal sense of the word in Chinese, "Jiangshi" is more akin to "Zombie". "Hopping Vampire" is a nickname given by westerners, based on the way Jiangshi moves and that it sucks its victims' life force, similar to vampires.
- Jiangshi is usually depicted in the uniform and hat of Qing Dynasty officials, the hat being similar to this item.
- In the literal sense of the word in Chinese, "Jiangshi" is more akin to "Zombie". "Hopping Vampire" is a nickname given by westerners, based on the way Jiangshi moves and that it sucks its victims' life force, similar to vampires.
- The talisman, called "Zhen Shi Fu" (literally translated as "Anti-Jiangshi talisman") in Chinese, is an imaginary type of Fulu mostly made by Taoists to prevent Jiangshi from moving or waking.
- However, the mark on the talisman has no significance from the perspective of Chinese Taoism.
