The Mining Light is a headwear item for the Engineer. It is a faintly glowing strap-on helmet lamp attached to his regular hard hat, similar to those used by miners.

Notes
- The hat description was written by ravn0s for the Hat Describing Contest, and was slightly edited by Valve.
- As from January 24, 2013, this item will become retired and will not be available through purchase from the Mann Co. Store, crafting, or randomly dropped. The item can still be uncrated from crates, but not in unusual version.
Trivia
- Typical Template:Ws have either a fitting attached to them or molded into their surface, for the purpose of holding such a light. Since the Engineer wears a construction worker's hard hat, the light must be attached by non-conductive leather or nylon straps.
