Trivia

  • Typical mining helmets have either a fitting attached to them or molded into their surface, for the purpose of holding such a light. Since the Engineer wears a construction worker's hard hat, the light must be attached by non-conductive leather, nylon straps, or similar material.
  • The backpack icon for the Mining Light has a model render of Engineer wearing it. This is not seen in-game as the alpha mask applied to both versions of the backpack icon (small and large) only leaves the hat visible, while hiding everything else, leaving his player model hidden as a result.
