Revision as of 22:43, 27 October 2021

The Chicken Kiev is a community-created cosmetic item for the Heavy. It replaces the Heavy's head with that of a team-colored Red Army Robin.

The head comes with fully-enabled facial flexing for voice commands and responses, and equipping it enables additional voice lines.

This item can only be worn around Halloween or during a Full Moon; at other times of the year, it does not appear in gameplay, unless the server has Halloween mode enabled. However, it can be equipped at any time and can still be viewed on the loadout screen even when it is not visible during games.

The Chicken Kiev was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Update history

  • The Chicken Kiev was added to the game.

October 30, 2013 Patch

Notes

  • The Chicken Kiev is set up to have equip regions for Whole Head and Head Skin, but does not due to incorrectly using equip_region to define multiple equip regions.[1]
  • Although the Chicken Kiev cannot be painted, painted versions exist due to a schema update that resulted in the item being marked as paintable for a short period of time.

Trivia

  • Chicken Kiev is an Eastern European dish of boneless chicken breast pounded and rolled around in cold garlic butter with herbs, then breaded and either fried or baked, similar to Chicken Cordon Bleu.
