The Surgeon's Shako is a community-created cosmetic item for the Medic. It is a Napoleonic-era military shako with a chinstrap and a team-colored insignia on the front.
The Surgeon's Shako was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Update history
December 22, 2014 Patch (Smissmas 2014)
- The Surgeon's Shako was added to the game.
Notes
- Using the Waterlogged Lab Coat paint on this item provides absolutely no visual difference in-game on either team. This happens because the exact same color values are used for both the paint and the item's default "unpainted" color.
Bugs
- Despite how the item appears in the backpack viewer, all Unusual variations of this item appear in-game to have the particle effect emit from the player's waist, rather than the hat itself.
Trivia
- This item is based on a common hat used by European militaries from the late 1790s to the early 1830s.
