The Lucky Shot is a community-created headwear item for the Soldier. It is the Soldier's default helmet, cracked from the impact of an unexploded green mortar with a team-colored band embedded on top. The band of color will either be yellow or orange, depending on the color of the opposing team.
The Lucky Shot was contributed to the game via the Steam Workshop.
