The Hero's Hachimaki is a promotional item for the Soldier obtained by pre-ordering Homefront on Steam. It is a team-colored headband featuring a white circle and star design in the center. The design of the headband and the way it is worn over the Soldier's eyes is a reference to the cover of Homefront.

The version of the item awarded by pre-ordering Homefront has Genuine quality and is not tradable. It is currently unknown whether or not the hat will be made craftable and/or tradable similar to the RIFT promotional items once the promotional period ends.

Homefront is currently unavailable for pre-purchase in the United Kingdom. Any attempt to pre-purchase it will display an error. According to an e-mail from Robin Walker, Valve is considering ways to ensure players from the UK can obtain the item.

• A Template:W (鉢巻, lit. "helmet-scarf") is a stylized headband in Japanese culture, usually made of red or white cloth. It was worn as a symbol of perseverance or effort by the wearer. Japanese kamikaze pilots in World War II would often wear hachimakis before flying to their deaths.
• The design features the red star of Communism from the Template:W, a major plot point in Homefront.
• This might have a unique sound to the Equalizer's Kamikaze taunt, like the Lumbicrus Lid, as a reference to Kamikaze headbands.
