Trivia
- The development/skin version of this hat was named "Pilot's Protector" before Valve renamed it.
- While the hat's design resembles a 20th century aviator's cap, the Bombing Run is actually modeled off a contemporary Italian tanker helmet. This was confirmed by the hat's maker.
- Originally, this hat was also for the Soldier, and was known as the "Tanker's Helm".
- This hat is similar to a piece of Team Fortress 2 concept art.
