The Dread Knot is a community-created headwear item for the Heavy. It resembles a Template:W, the traditional top-knotted hair style of Template:W men and samurai in Japan and, in more modern times, Template:W.
The Dread Knot, released with the Shogun Pack, was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-purchased Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam before March 15, 2011. It is also available through crafting, item drops, or purchase from the Mann Co. Store.

Note: The blueprint simply makes a Heavy's hat; there is still a chance of getting other hats instead. There will be a ~7.69% chance of crafting this item.
Update history
- The item was added to the game.
- Fixed the new Shogun hats not being grayed out when paint is being used.
Trivia
- The name is a reference to a "Template:W", a type of 20th century battleship with tremendous fire power. The word itself literally means "fear nothing".
