The Dread Knot is a community-created promotional cosmetic item for the Heavy. It gives the Heavy hair which is styled into a chonmage, a form of hairstyle originating from edo-period Japanese culture.
This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-purchased Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam before March 15, 2011.

- The Dread Knot was added to the game.
- Fixed the Dread Knot not being grayed out when paint is being used.
- The Dread Knot was made tradable.
