The Dangeresque, Too?, also referred to as the Dangeresque Shades, is a miscellaneous item for the Demoman. It is a pair of white "Template:W", as worn by Homestar Runner - the titular character from the Homestar Runner series of Flash animations - in the cartoon of the same name. They are unlocked by defeating Strong Bad during a round in Template:W in which he has bought in with the item instead of cash.
Bugs
- If one wears the Dangeresque Shades with the Voodoo Juju, Spine-Chilling Skull or the Hustler's Hallmark, then the shades will accidentally clip through the hat.
- If Poker Night is loaded up on a computer which already contains save data for Poker Night, with one or more weapons unlocked, then that steam account will instantly unlock the achievement(s) regarding the weapon unlock and that TF2 account will be rewarded the corresponding weapon(s) without having to play though Poker Night again.
Trivia
- The shades come from Strong Bad's low-budget, Ed Wood-esque action series Dangeresque (consisting of only three films). Dangeresque Too (usually spoken as Dangeresque...Too?), Dangeresque's (Strong Bad) sidekick, played by Homestar Runner, wears these shades. They first show up in Strong Bad email #106: dangeresque 3.
- As well as being used in the cartoon, they were also featured in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Episode 4: Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective by Telltale.
- Template:W were invented in 1927, but they became popular during the 1980's (nearly 20 years after TF2 takes place).
- The official item description is a reference to the movie trope of turning away from explosions as they explode in slow-motion for dramatic effect.
- The ingame description references the poker term "splashing the pot," which means to haphazardly push or throw chips into the center of the table instead of keeping them separate from other players' chips. This practice is frowned upon, as it can make it difficult to account for the amount of chips anted.
- The Poker Night at the Inventory version of the Dangeresque shades are in a grey colour instead of a bright white.
