Earbuds are a cosmetic item wearable by all classes. They appear as a stylized version of the white earbuds that normally come with various handheld Apple products. This item was awarded to players who launched Team Fortress 2 using the OS X operating system (at the time Mac OS X) between June 10, 2010 and June 14, 2010. The offer was later extended to August 16 before coming to an end.[1] Earbuds/Buds are also commonly used in Team Fortress 2 as high value currency as these hats are relatively rare and worth a lot.

- The Earbuds are now nameable.
- [Undocumented] The Earbuds' self-illumination was removed.
- The Earbuds are now gift-wrappable.
- Relaxed equip region restrictions for the Earbuds so that they can be equipped with anything (Changed equip region from "ears" to "earbuds_special").
- Added the Limited attribute to the Earbuds.
