The Heavy

The Soldier of Fortune is a miscellaneous medal awarded by Valve to the Team Fortress 2 Community as part of their 119th Update Celebration. It appears as a rectangular silver medal worn on the class's chest, not unlike the Gentle Manne's Service Medal. The Soldier of Fortune medal is awarded to players who purchased and played Team Fortress 2 three months to a year after its initial release.

Notes

  • The Soldier of Fortune, along with the Grizzled Veteran and Mercenary medals, were the first Miscellaneous items to be available to all 9 classes.
  • The class symbol on the medals reflects the class wearing it.
  • This item is given out to users who first played Team Fortress 2 from 00:00 January 10, 2008 (UTC) to 23:59 October 9, 2008 (UTC).
  • "Soldier of Fortune" is another term for a mercenary. All characters in Team Fortress 2 are mercenaries that fight for BLU or RED.
