The Cow Mangler 5000 is a primary weapon for the Soldier.
The weapon has the ability to fire charged shots that deal mini-crits, as well as disable buildings for 4 seconds. However, it deals less damage to buildings, and it cannot fire any critical hits, even when the holder has a crit boost. The weapon does not use ammo, but the weapon can only be fired five times before the Soldier has to reload the weapon. The Soldier reloads the weapon via pumping a handle on the side of the weapon. Each pump reloads one charge.
The weapon is part of Dr. Grordbort's Victory Pack.

Charge shot mechanic
The player can press alt-fire to charge the weapon, which requires full energy (i.e. the Cow Mangler 5000 bar on the bottom right corner of the screen is full). Firing one depletes the energy, forcing the soldier to "reload."
It is possible to rocket jump with a normal shot, but not with a charged shot.
The weapon takes approximately 3 seconds to charge and the soldier moves at about the same speed when a Heavy spins his Minigun. (roughly 37% of maximum speed, as opposed to his normal 80%) as he is charging the weapon. A charged shot can disable any Engineer's building for 4 seconds and deals mini-crits.
A charged shot ignites nearby enemies when it explodes, as well as the player who shot it if it explodes close by. It can also ignite ally Sniper's Huntsman arrows.

Bugs
- Attempting to rocketjump with a charged shot will grant the Pilot Light Pyro achievement to the user.
- The charging particles persist if the user taunts during the charge time.

- According to the Grordbort's Crash comic, the weapon, along with the Righteous Bison, was found by the RED Soldier in a rocket that crash landed, represented on several maps as the Grockets in the background.
