The Self-Aware Beauty Mark is a secondary weapon for the Sniper. It is a sealed jar containing translucent green fluid which sloshes inside the container as the player moves. There is a bread monster suspended inside it. A label on the jar reads "SPECIMEN; DO NOT OPEN" with the serial number of #384. The bread monster struggles and squirms inside the jar while growling.

This weapon functions identically to the Jarate, however, upon a direct hit on a target, a bread monster appears squirming and biting the target's head on the side they were hit from for 10 seconds. If hit more than once, it is possible to accumulate several bread monsters on a single victim, which additionally stack with any from the Mutated Milk. If the target is killed, all of the bread monsters on them persist on their corpse for 10 seconds, regardless of how long they have been soaked. This is a cosmetic effect and does not damage the player.

If the Self-Aware Beauty Mark is crit boosted when the projectile is thrown, the bread monster's size on targets it hits directly is drastically increased.

  • [Undocumented] Updated Self-Aware Beauty Mark 20% cooldown reduction when used to extinguish a burning teammate from neutral attribute to positive attribute.

Bugs

• Often times, using an equippable taunt while holding the Self-Aware Beauty Mark causes the bread monster inside the jar to stop moving. This can be fixed by switching to another weapon.
• Rarely, the bread monster appears on the target's head when the target is not coated in Jarate.
• Currently, the Self-Aware Beauty Mark's loadout animation is bugged, being positioned behind the Sniper while he holds out an open hand.
• The Self-Aware Beauty Mark has slightly different physics compared to Jarate, making it fly further when thrown.
• If the player switches weapons immediately after the Self-Aware Beauty Mark is thrown, the projectile is the Jarate instead.
• When thrown at a Sentry Buster, the "bomb" part of the model is not tinted yellow; only the legs are tinted.

• The name of this weapon is a reference to a line the Medic says during the short film Expiration Date.
