Darwin's Danger Shield is a community-created secondary weapon for the Sniper. It is a crocodile hide, complete with a waving tail, stretched over a broken wooden frame. A bird skull is tied to the brown leather body strap.
Darwin's Danger Shield is worn on the Sniper's back. Instead of protecting the wearer from backstabs, it grants a passive bonus of afterburn immunity and a 50% increased flame resistance.

- Darwin's Danger Shield was added to the game.
- [Undocumented] The Darwin's Danger Shield was added to the crafting blueprint for the Ol' Snaggletooth.
- Fixed players getting set bonuses applied on tournament servers when the server is restricting the player's weapons using the item_whitelist.
- Changed attributes:
- Added Bullet damage taken reduced by 15%.
- Added Explosive damage taken increased by 20%.
October 20, 2017 Patch #1 (Jungle Inferno Update)
- Changed attributes:
- Added afterburn immunity.
- Added +50% fire resist.
- Removed +25 max health on wearer.

- The Darwin's Danger Shield does not appear when inspected from the Backpack menu.
Trivia
- The name of the weapon may be a reference to a multitude of things:
- Darwin may refer to the capital of the Northern Territory in Australia, the Sniper's home country. Crocodiles are also often found around Darwin.
- Darwin may also refer to Charles Darwin, who is known for proposing the scientific theory of natural selection and the theory of Evolution.
