Preposterous!
The Spy on the Maul's design

The Maul is a promotional melee weapon for the Pyro. It is modeled after the eponymous sledgehammer from Red Faction: Armageddon.

This weapon functions in exactly the same way as the Homewrecker.

This item was awarded in Genuine to players who pre-purchased Red Faction: Armageddon on Steam before June 6, 2011.[1]

Update history

June 3, 2011 Patch

  • The Maul was added to the game.

June 8, 2011 Patch

  • Updated the Maul's kill icon; the weapon now faces the victim.

June 14, 2011 Patch

Bugs

  • As with the Homewrecker, the Maul's positive attributes is "100% damage vs. buildings", which suggests that it deals normal melee damage to buildings and 25% lower damage to players. The Maul actually deals double damage to buildings; the attribute should be "+100% damage vs. buildings".
