New gun is unfair to tiny baby enemies.
The Heavy, upon receiving his giant new gun

The Brass Beast is a primary weapon for the Heavy and was released as part of the Hibernating Bear set. It is similar in appearance to the original 1861 gatling gun made by Richard J. Gatling. It also appears to have an attached Broadwell Drum, though mounted on the side and fed into the main gun via ammunition chain (the original Broadwell Drum was mounted above the gun, and was essentially 'gravity-operated').

Bugs

  • Because of the placement of the chain and ammo drum, the Brass Beast will clip through the Heavy's left hand and right arm when taunting.
  • Natascha related achievements can be unlocked using the Brass Beast.

Trivia

  • The shooting sound of the weapon is re-used from Day of Defeat, more specifically the .30 Cal.
  • The first person view model of the Brass Beast, as well as that of the Iron Curtain, are based on the actual scale of the weapon models. This is in contrast to the Minigun and Natascha, which used separate skewed models to present more of the weapons on the screen.
