The Back Scatter is a community-created primary weapon for the Scout. It is a short, slightly-modified lever-action shotgun with a wooden handle, a single barrel, and a dual small shell drum.

Nearby enemies within a range of around 500 Hammer units (roughly 31 feet) are dealt mini-crit damage when shot from behind with the Back Scatter – ambush unsuspecting players to make the most of this weapon. Its trade-offs are 34% fewer rounds per clip (leaving 4 shots before needing to reload), 20% more bullet spread, and an inability to deal random critical hits.

The Back Scatter was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The 3lb Trigger".
