Yer all bloody dead!
The Demoman

The Loch-n-Load is a primary weapon for the Demoman and was released as part of the The Expert's Ordnance set. It appears as a break-action Grenade Launcher, with separate barrels for each of the two grenades it fires.

The weapon fires grenades that travel at approximately 1331 Hammer units per second, or around 56 miles per hour. These grenades inflict slightly more damage upon a direct hit, however the grenades will shatter harmlessly upon hitting anything other than an enemy. The grenades additionally deal increased self-damage to the Demoman who fired them, making short-range attacks more hazardous.

Bugs

  • The Loch-n-Load uses the same reload animation as the Grenade Launcher, making it appear as if the Demoman is loading grenades into the side of the barrel.
  • Grenades fired bounce off certain dynamic surfaces such as the moving walkways of Nucleus, as well as teammates.
  • In the view model, the sight has been moved up the barrel, and is therefore not properly clipped into the correct position.
    • However, the world model for the Loch-n-Load has the sight in the correct position.
  • The weapon description reads "-60% clip size", which due to rounding is misleading (one cannot have 1.6 grenades). A more accurate description would be "-66% clip size".

Trivia

  • The Loch-n-Load's name is a word play on the phrase "lock and load", a slang military command to prepare firearms for battle. The word "loch" is a Gaelic word for "lake", and is a reference to bodies of water such as Loch Ness in Scotland.
