The Mad Milk is a secondary weapon for the Scout class. It appears as a nondescript bottle of milk with no cap.

Functioning similarly to Jarate, this weapon can be thrown by the player at enemies. Once a target is covered in milk, 75% of the damage done to them is returned as health to whoever damages them, be they the Scout that threw the milk or his teammates. Mad Milk has the added benefits of extinguishing teammates on fire, and shorting out Cloaking devices.

Players under the effects of Mad Milk will not have blurred vision, but will have a white droplet icon next to their health meter on the HUD, similar to that of the bleed effect.

  • Mad Milk Recharge: 24 seconds, same as Bonk! Atomic Punch.
  • Mad Milk 'Effects' Duration: 6 seconds, as an approximation.

All times are in seconds, and determined by community testing.

Item set

This item is part of the Special Delivery set. When the entire set is worn, the set provides this additional bonus:

  • +25 max health

Trivia

  • Following the trend of highly dangerous drinks, like the Bonk! Atomic Punch and Crit-a-Cola, the milk came from cows infused with "sweet wholesome thermonuclear radiation."
  • Spies under the effect of Mad Milk will still exclaim a Jarate line.
  • The milk within the bottle appears to have jigglebones and reflects movements made by the player.
  • With the addition of the Mann-conomy update, six classes are now capable of healing themselves. The Scout (with Mad Milk), the Soldier (through successful hits with the Black Box), the Pyro (by killing an enemy with the Powerjack), the Heavy (with his edible devices), the Engineer (with a Dispenser), and the Medic (passive healing, successful hits with the Blutsauger, or the Oktoberfest taunt).
  • It is unknown how the Scout recharges the Mad Milk without returning to a Resupply Cabinet
  • If a Spy backstabs an enemy coated in Mad Milk, he can gain a ridiculous amount of health. If he were to backstab a fully overhealed Heavy coated in Mad Milk, he could gain 2,025 hp in an instant. Similarly, a Sniper could gain 337.5 HP by killing an overhealed Heavy with a full charged Headshot, or a Demoman could gain the same amount with a detonation of Sticky Bombs next to the Heavy.
  • It is unknown if Sentry Guns contribute health to an Engineer if it is attacking an enemy coated in Mad Milk.
  • Throwing mad milk on someone who is already jarated cancels out the the visual effect of the jarate but keeps the effects of both and vice versa
