Commando Grade Hat
Hat

Grade is an intrinsic sub-quality of Decorated weapons and certain cosmetic items. Item grades were first introduced in the Gun Mettle Update. Any items unboxed from Event Cases released past this update will have a Grade. The grade of an item is not a quality, but rather an indicator of the rarity of an item. Decorated weapons and cosmetic items use their respective grade color code when viewed in-game, rather than the color code associated with their quality. Civilian and Freelance Grade weapons can not be unboxed, and can only be obtained as Contract rewards. Currently, there are six different Grades of items.

Bugs

  • While playing in DirectX 8, the message "You are in DirectX 8, decorated weapons are incompatible and show as stock." appears on Graded cosmetics, despite none of these cosmetics use the Decorated or War Paint system.

Trivia

  • The colors used to designate grades are the same that are used to designate Rarity in Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
