The Disguise Kit (also known as the Spytron 3000) is a PDA weapon for the Spy. It appears as an ordinary cigarette case that, in addition to normal cigarettes, contains hidden spytech.
Selecting this weapon allows the player to disguise as any class on either team. When selected, the disguise menu fills most of the screen, making in game movements difficult. Players can select classes with the correct keys, and switch teams with a single key. Disguising is carried out over a couple of seconds, during which smoke particles will surround the Spy if viewed by another player. Once finished, a line drawing of the Spy shows up briefly on the player's screen to indicate a successful disguise. This line drawing also appears when the disguise is broken. Pressing the last disguise button (PC version) allows the player to change their disguised weapon to one from the slot they currently have equipped.
In the PC version, once disguised as the enemy, the player is able to view the current health and name of enemies, as if they were viewing an ally. Additionally, the Spy's current disguise class, name and weapon appear in the HUD. The status of enemy Medics currently healing the Spy will also be shown.
