Adding bugs

Hi there,

Please add a video link (or image link if possible) proving the bug, this will save editors a lot of time and will prevent false information a lot easier.

Hi, first of, thanks for contributing to the image part of the Wiki, the one people have the most trouble for. Your images are good and I'm pretty happy about your HLMV auto screenshot tool (even though I haven't tested it myself). I decided that, after Seederat and some random person on my Steam profile, to stop helping people, because, I honestly helped so many people already and I want a break, so don't feel bad. I just want to say that...

  • may want to check your dxsupport.cfg settings because your HLMV is not archiving high-res textures (see the Heavy, Engineer and Medic emblems as examples). You can try the pre-configured dxsupport.cfg page that is included on Help:HLMV, but make sure to backup yours first.
  • Also... dxsupport.cfg is always reset to default when you verify for the game integrity files, so you will always need to configured it/replace it whenever you verify the cache.
  • Second... some of your pictures have weird lighting, especially the Medic ones. I recommend resetting them via regedit and setting the lightrot to (0.000000 180.000000 0.000000). The values for each model loaded can be found at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Valve\hlmv. Be careful when using regedit, as changes made to system-specific registries can cause problems to your PC.
  • And finally, while your anti-alias looks okay, it could be better. Try maxing out all the anti-alias settings on your driver's settings (either general or only for hlmv.exe)

Note: The graphic settings applied on TF2 does not apply to HLMV, each program has their own settings. So you do not need to set TF2 at max settings (I play on toaster graphics, for instance).

Picture Categories

Please put categories on your painted variant images, preferably

== Licensing == {{ScreenshotTF2}} [[Category:Painted item images]]

I'm a fan of your HLMV Transparent tool! Have a good day. Memayz (talk) 00:41, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

If possible, please start adding [[Category:Tournament Medal images]] to tournament medal images from now on. It's under-utilized and I'd like to eventually (fully?) populate it. Don't feel forced to go back now, as there is a boatload of them, but my hope is to from now on. Memayz (talk) 03:19, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

I tried to do this myself to see if anyone else doing renders could test your stuff for hat vote purposes and opencv inflates dist/ dir to like 200MB. I wanna see an example of reuse of this by another editor. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 05:28, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I've been trying to do some sort of conversion, but some libraries that the program uses are not looking to become an exe willingly. Lexzach (talk) 17:44, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
It's opencv's libs probably. I've had issues with it myself. As things stand though it's kinda hard for staff besides me to vote on you. I was able to vote because I do git clone && pip install -r requirements.txt like a dozen times a day. But I only realized after voting that no other editors have really done that from what I'm seeing. Your backers kinda leaned into the script reusability for your nomination reason :( -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 00:47, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Yeah that's unfortunate, hopefully I can get the exe working so the skill ceiling required to get it functional can be a little lower (i.e. you only have to download that one exe instead of having to go through the whole python install process.) Lexzach (talk) 18:07, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the HLMV transparency tool

I tried alpha masking with GIMP, but it left jagged edges. Then I stumbled upon your tool, which also has edge smoothing. Thanks, mate. — Exaskliri (they/them) (talk | contribs) 09:23, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
