==About the "review" thing==
 +
Hello, I've got the message about the review of Jew, ClockworkSpirit and Dr. Scaphandre from Scaphandre. I think the reviews are probably about the Wiki Cap Nomination, so I leave a message here for the confirmation. If it is really about the nomination, then maybe I will take some time looking at these three nominees and give YES/NO reviews since I don't really know them much. Posing my reviews here later is probably not a good idea, so it would be great if there's another discreet way to send my reviews to you, thanks. BTW, the Cap review logs' password are auto-generated, I forget how to get inside. Is there any way to get in...?

==RE: Valve Weapons==
+
== Name of my account ==

Actually, the main reason I made the page was I wanted to post a couple of youtube videos of Robin messing around with the Valve Rocket Launcher on public servers with ordinary players. It's rather amusing and real treat to watch for ordinary players who haven't seen it in action.

: No, it wouldn't be. The wiki is a place for notable information, not showing off weapons. The problem is that it's so easy for someone that runs a server to attach a quality and attributes to the Rocket Launcher that make it identical to Robin's. If people want to see what Robin's Rocket Launcher looks like in game they can easily do a search on youtube, it doesn't have a place on this wiki. Also please be sure to sign your talk page comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> -- [[User:Lagg|Lagg]] [[File:Backpack_Stickybomb_Launcher.png|24px|link=User_talk:Lagg]] 16:46, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

:: Interesting. Was that how the server admin Drunken F00l replicated Robin's Valve Rocket Launcher, or was he given one?

::Well, anyway, it's not so much individual weapons but more of sightings of major valve/TF2 game designer celebrities showing up in public servers. == Nazi/Medic Valve Statement ==

What dictates when a citation needed sentence can be removed?  Do they remain indefinitely unless someone manages to find a source to reference (in which case, beginning a sentence with "Valve stated..." would guaranteed a certain level of immunity)?  The only reason I ask is that I spent several hours online watching and reading interviews which lead to a dead link and no official info on it (just forum posts perpetuating second hand information).  Just wanted to ask before spending any more time on other citation stuff.  Thanks. [[User:Malthenius|Malthenius]] 09:33, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

== New user ==
: No they don't remain indefinitely, but it will remain until it's discussed on the talk page. If a sentence has the citation template it means that it was not outright disproved but still needs to be confirmed. Hello, I am quite new to the TF2 wiki, but certainly not new to Wikimarkup and the lark. I am trying to add a link to my Wikipedia Userpage, but keep getting hit with a ReCAPTCHA for the external link, then a "This action has been automatically identified as harmful, and therefore disallowed. If you believe your action was constructive, please inform an administrator of what you were trying to do. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: New user spam". What I am actually trying to type in: "Greetings, I am Littlecat456, an experienced wiki editor. My main wikipedia account can be found [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Littlecat456 here]]. If you need to discuss something private with me, use the handy-dandy "Email this User" button found on both Wikipedia and this wiki.
 +
This page will slowly turn into something great, as I re-familiarise myself with Wikimarkup, and the lark."
 +
Please could you help me out? Thanks in advance. [[User:Littlecat456|Littlecat456]] ([[User talk:Littlecat456|talk]]) 10:15, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

:Because Lagg is unlikely to answer at this time, I'll try to help. What usually works if excluding the external link (Or using <nowiki>[[w:User:Littlecat456|here]]</nowiki>, that might work, too) then adding it in the 2nd edit. This is because there has been a rise in bots making accounts on the wiki and putting scam links on their user pages. This will catch some innocent users but largely stops the links.<br>[[User:GrampaSwood|GrampaSwood]] ([[User talk:GrampaSwood|talk]]) 10:20, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

== Page Example Videos ==

I'm new to the Team Fortress Wiki and I was unable to connect to the IRC channel and that's why I am contacting you.

I have seen so many pages on this wiki showing people crafting stuff, opening crates, etc., usually rare stuff. My video shows the same thing on the [[Saxton Hale Mask|Saxton Hale Mask Page]], and it keeps getting undone. And I find them particularly useful and a neat idea to this site. ---[[User:BlueFlamePRG|&#91;PM&#93; ΡÖIЙ† βLΛЙҚ]]
+
I have a few questions about navigating through the Wiki (I already read most of the guidelines), as the way of communicating here is pretty new to me.

: The problem with videos like yours is that if we allowed one to stay all videos showing an item being crafted would have to stay as well. Nothing unique happens when crafting the Saxton Hale mask so a video is not needed. If you have seen similar videos on other pages it means we have missed them and would appreciate your help in cleaning them up. -- [[User:Lagg|Lagg]] [[File:Backpack_Stickybomb_Launcher.png|24px|link=User:Lagg]] 23:37, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

If no message of mine has been delivered to your mailbox, your providing the E-mail address will be appreciated for an almost nostalgic approach of communication.

Seriously, please explain to me why two simple sentences explaining the basic gameplay values of an item aren't needed simply because we can go "oh why bother? Its somewhere else!". Why should the reader have to go to another page to find out how this item functions? Its basic computer philosophy mate, a user should be able to get the information on what they want as quickly and in as few moves as possible. If a user wants to know exactly a Lugermorph functions and how to use it we shouldn't be telling them to stop reading the Lugermorph one, read the pistol one and then come back. A brief summary of the gameplay measures is therefore quite reasonable on that article. Simply strutting in and going "Don't add this again!" isn't exactly helpful. -- [[User:Sabre|Sabre]] 11:07, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

: I believe you answered your own question. Redundant information isn't needed. This is a wiki, the essence of which isn't to be a site designed for casual visitors. It is a place for people to be involved in a constant process of collaboration and documentation of things that change frequently. I apologize if you got the wrong idea from other weapon pages (I just noticed someone has been doing the same thing to the other alternate texture/model pages as well) but it was decided that we will not be pasting summaries or statistics from their respective normal variant pages. -- [[User:Lagg|Lagg]] [[File:Backpack_Stickybomb_Launcher.png|24px|link=User_talk:Lagg]] 11:19, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

:: Minor niggling, but it wasn't copy-and-pasted, I wrote the summaries on the Big Kill and Lugermorph pages to try to convey the gameplay information with deliberately different and more brief wording to avoid any notion of simply copy-and-pasting. But whatever. May I ask where this was decided? I would just like to read the discussion for myself. -- [[User:Sabre|Sabre]] 11:39, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

:: Sorry for the lack of explanation, the summary provided in that section before my most recent revision to it was beginning to be a mess and was already mostly wrong. "Let's not do this" referred to people stacking patch dates and everything on that when they shouldn't really be there. -- [[User:Lagg|Lagg]] [[File:Backpack_Stickybomb_Launcher.png|24px|link=User_talk:Lagg]] 00:57, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

About the "review" thing

Hello, I've got the message about the review of Jew, ClockworkSpirit and Dr. Scaphandre from Scaphandre. I think the reviews are probably about the Wiki Cap Nomination, so I leave a message here for the confirmation. If it is really about the nomination, then maybe I will take some time looking at these three nominees and give YES/NO reviews since I don't really know them much. Posing my reviews here later is probably not a good idea, so it would be great if there's another discreet way to send my reviews to you, thanks. ~www~ 19:50, 31 August 2016 (PDT)
BTW, the Cap review logs' password are auto-generated, I forget how to get inside. Is there any way to get in...?

The idea is that you don't need to be known beyond a pseudonym. Whenever you're ready send your vote and a reasonable short rationale. Either with Steam or IRC PMs. Email is also fine. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 19:52, 31 August 2016 (PDT)
Okay. If I come up with reviews, I'll let you know. Probably by using Steam. ~www~ 20:58, 31 August 2016 (PDT)

Name of my account

Hey! I'm wanna change my wiki name "✌AlexBro✌" to "LazyRaider". Can i do that?The preceding unsigned comment was added by ✌ AlexBro ✌ (talk) • (contribs) ✌LazyRaider✌ (talk) 10:12, 7 January 2017 (PST)

I think the wiki doesn't like your peace signs. Page keeps erroring when I try to change it. :( -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 09:22, 7 January 2017 (PST)

New user

Hello, Lagg, today i have seen a new user Lordonio, who changes my articles to the wrong ones. When I try to put everything back into place, I get an identical change in response. Also some he's problems: tautology, bad russian language. Can you talk to him? He ignores my remarks. The preceding unsigned comment was added by ✌ AlexBro ✌ (talk) • (contribs) ✌LazyRaider✌ (talk) 05:53, 17 may 2017 (PST)

    • It looks like very big joke. Alex doesn't know much, do not take he seriously. And, Alex, please say about this Radist or TheRilonh not Lagg.
I'll take care of that. Go to work again, Laggles. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 09:05, 17 May 2017 (PDT)

The Front Page is in horrible shape

We've had so many blogs happen, but no one has been updating the front page to reflect that. --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre 14:35, 26 July 2017 (PDT)

I feel like this might be because the blags have had fairly meh content besides that update. But yeah. If you want to leave relevant links and descriptions for it I'll put and attribute you. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 14:39, 26 July 2017 (PDT)
Even significant blogs like the announcement of the balance changes were not updated. But yes, I would like front page privileges back so I can fix this. (In terms of the blogs, I'll only put the most three recent blogs). I think it may also be time to rotate the Featured Article as well. --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre 19:47, 26 July 2017 (PDT)

Trying to create my userpage with a link to my Wikipedia Userpage.

My main wikipedia account can be found [here]. If you need to discuss something private with me, use the handy-dandy "Email this User" button found on both Wikipedia and this wiki. This page will slowly turn into something great, as I re-familiarise myself with Wikimarkup, and the lark." Please could you help me out? Thanks in advance. Littlecat456 (talk) 10:15, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

Because Lagg is unlikely to answer at this time, I'll try to help. What usually works if excluding the external link (Or using [[w:User:Littlecat456|here]], that might work, too) then adding it in the 2nd edit. This is because there has been a rise in bots making accounts on the wiki and putting scam links on their user pages. This will catch some innocent users but largely stops the links.

Unable To Connect To The IRC Channel

Hello!

I am sorry for bothering you.

I'm new to the Team Fortress Wiki and I was unable to connect to the IRC channel and that's why I am contacting you.

I have a few questions about navigating through the Wiki (I already read most of the guidelines), as the way of communicating here is pretty new to me.

I am not sure whom I should contact. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry for late response. Seems that I messed up my notification settings a bit. Feel free to contact me or anyone listed here on their talk pages. At the moment we're still requiring users to be registered before joining. Which you can do by typing /msg nickserv help register and following the instructions. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 06:33, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. No worries, it's not a late response. I did manage to register and am able to use the IRC chat. I appreciate your help. --Kubrat (talk) 12:13, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

The article I made keeps being flagged as "Large spam pages"

Hello, I'm new to the TF2 wiki and I was trying to make an article on basic strategies for sniper (classic) but it flagged it as large spam pages. Porcupine's Revenge (talk) 04:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

You triggered the filter that assumes an account is a bot if it doesn't have much of a history and tries to edit pages with links in them or tries to do substantial edits. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 05:55, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Peaceful greetings

Hellow, Lagg.

This one has received your message on IRC, yet when I planned to respond, the window became no longer available.

Obviously, this one is unable to send you a message through either IRC or Steam. Worse still, I have no idea if the in-site email service has served us well.

If no message of mine has been delivered to your mailbox, your providing the E-mail address will be appreciated for an almost nostalgic approach of communication.
