Hello, GrampaSwood!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User GrampaSwood to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:GrampaSwood/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Sorry about my first edition

Hi! Sorry for the first edition of Mercenary Park (cosmetic item) on the Baseball cap/fi page.
I come to the wiki to ask to staff about the 3D module you use in the wiki, as the user User:Shahar told me that the module was originally from this wiki; however, when I tried to contact, I saw that I had to follow a series of steps before, and as I hardly know the saga I went to edit broken images. Then, I discovered that there were more pages in different languages and, seeing that you reversed my change, I did it correctly afterwards.
Staff to staff, sorry for the first inconvenience, I know it's frustrating to revert the changes and edit them again. I wish the best for your wiki, and I see that you have it very well structured and with hardly any bugs, congratulations! A22PG (talk) 16:31, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Don't worry about it, I've made similar mistakes a few times in the past mostly with Bonesaw (map) and Brimstone (map) linking to Bonesaw and Brimstone respectively. It's better that you made the edit and bring the mistake to someone's attention than to not have made the edit and have the mistake be there until someone else found it. I also really don't mind reverting changes and editing them again.

I have a question

Hello Grampa Swood!

I recently registered on wiki, but already made a couple of changes (60+ articles edited)

And i just want to know 2 things: 1) How much edits user must do to be nominated for Wiki-cap 2) And can any person ask somebody to nominate them? I hope i will do much more changes and maybe one day get nominated and just want to know more about it. P.S. i bad in english, if there any mistakes, sorry XD TSTH 17:46, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

1. There is no edit requirement for it, but that also does not mean 10 edits will grant the Cap.
2. Users should only nominate others if they think they truly deserve it. That being said, asking a friend of yours to nominate you will result in the nomination being removed.
Translators are able to nominate themselves, but this is only if they meet the requirements to do so.

With the Boxes

Hey, I am definitely going to need your help with the boxes part, whenever I attempt to add this in below: /Template:Border | image = Main menu soldier.png | image-size = 20px | title = General info | content = Hallo, und Willkommen this is my TF2 Wiki Page! I am an American guy living in the West. I am a sort of Medic Main, though I do play other classes a lot, I enjoy helping my teammates, so I like Medic. And I also like German and am learning it, so I like the German guy. I also enjoy playing Sniper, though most of the time when I am playing Sniper, I use the SMG most of the time. I have a steam account as well. I also play games other than TF2, such as Team Fortress Classic, Fortress Forever, w:Stellaris, w:Europa Universalis IV, w:Crusader Kings II, w:Deltarune (yes, I do play this mix of games) and many others. It always comes up with User:Tenth class gaming/Template:Border (I did remove the {} in order for it to show.) Do you know how to fix this? Tenth class gaming (talk) 22:12, 13 January 2024 (UTC) Tenth Class Gaming

Replace "/Template:Border" with "User:GrampaSwood/Template:Border".

Issue i'm facing

Hello Gramps, I'm currently starting to make edits for AR pages(I'm aware that it's deprecated) but meh why not, ok so my issue is that I can't change some elements and names in edit page, it's visible in the original page but wherever i look in edit mode, I can't change it, looking forward to hear your reply.

It's likely a template that you're looking for? Anything in curly brackets {{ }} is a template. To find these, simply take the text in the brackets and put it after "wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Template:". For example, {{Painted variants}} would be on wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Template:Painted variants.

Also note that for Arabian pages, only existing translations should be edited. No new ones or anything.

I understand Acceonit (talk) 15:12, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
One last question, regard what you said: 'no new ones or anything', will that apply for crucial pages like unique, strange, critical etc.? Acceonit (talk) 15:30, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
