== Power ==

* The Double-Barrel Shotgun deals 4 points of damage over 14 pellets; 56 damage if all pellets connect, which makes this weapon able to kill a Scout in two shots.

* The Half-Life 1 Engine (Gold Source Engine) also limits the spread of the Double-Barrel Shotgun, making it work surprisingly well at long range.

* The reloading time is fairly quick as it takes only 3 seconds to completely reload it.

== Weaknesses ==

* The ''Team Fortress'' Super Shotgun is very inaccurate which renders the weapon less useful at range, making it better suited as a secondary weapon.

* In ''Team Fortress Classic'', it is preferable to use it in close combat quarters to deal full damage. Unfortunately, this causes the player to expose themselves to danger.

Team Fortress obituaries

The Double-Barrel Shotgun, often referred to as the "Super Shotgun", is a weapon for the Soldier, Medic, Heavy Weapons Guy, Spy, and Engineer.

Compared to the Single-Barrel Shotgun, the Double-Barrel Shotgun fires 8 more pellets, allowing it to do considerably more damage at close range. It fires and reloads slower, meaning it is slightly less effective in a sustained firefight. Due to the lack of damage falloff in Team Fortress Classic, it still makes for an effective weapon at longer ranges.

The Double-Barrel Shotgun holds double the shells of the Single-Barrel Shotgun, consumes two shells per shot, and two shells are loaded into the clip at once when reloading.
