Welcome to the TF wiki!

Hey Pyro BackBURNER96,

welcome to the TF wiki and great to see some action going on in the Italian section. :)

I've noticed a few minor mistakes in your first edit and corrected it. Just remember the following things and you're good to go:

  • Always link to Italian pages, never to English ones. If you get confused about what links where, it might be easier for you to choose to use [[Spy/it|Spio]] for all links so you easily see if you missed a "/it" somewhere.
  • For items you can utilize the {{item name}} and {{item link}} templates, those are automatically inserting the Italian item name and in case of the latter template also inserting a link to the Italian page. Example usage: {{item link|Medi Gun}} produces: Pistola Medica.
  • The {{see also}} and {{main}} templates are a little more complicated to translate. The English {{see also|Obtaining Foundry achievements}} must be translated as {{see also|Obtaining Foundry achievements/it|l1=Ottenere gli achievement di Foundry}}, so the last parameter is the name that is shown for the link.

Keep up the work and have fun!

If you've got any questions, feel free to join the IRC, ask me on my talk page or answer under this post here. Please note that I don't speak Italian. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 02:27, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

Thank you! i'll do my best!

Thanks for correcting my mistakes! I'm new on TF2 i just have 200 hours or so, but i just love this game and i've visited the english wiki many times. So one night a friend of mine were talking about the lack of translation/information on the italian wiki, so i decided to translate the pages myself, so i can give a hand to the italian TF2 community, i already translate the "Foundry achievements-how to" because it was totally missing and i thought it would be better to "fix" this hole in the italian wiki, and i'm going to translate everithing i can as best as possible! please don't kick me out because i'm a "noob" i want only to translate pages already existing from English language to the italian, and i'm sure about my knowledge of the english language is way superior than my skills on TF2, at least for now. Again, Thank You very much! Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 03:11, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

It's quite the contrary to "kick you out", we're very happy about every translator helping to improve this wiki, especially since the Italian section is pretty dead at the moment. :) Also, you're not a "noob", for your first edit this was already quite good from what I can judge. I'm afraid you don't have much other Italian translators to cooperate with, nonetheless have a look on your translation page. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 03:38, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

I see,i never thought to cooperate with other people but if i want to traslate another page, if it doesn't appear in the "Traslations in progress" can i translate it by myself? and there's a limit to the mistakes before getting ban on this wiki? Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 04:09, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

You can translate any English page to Italian. You can also edit and improve/update other Italian articles that are old or have mistakes in them. The "Translations in progress" are most likely completely outdated since, as I said, nobody is active on the Italian side. No, you won't get banned. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 04:11, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

Thank you for the info, i'm going to traslate everything i can! Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 04:17, 4 September 2016 (PDT) I checked the Mann VS Machine achievement page on the italian wiki, there's no "How to- achievement" section, then i can translate it, but i noticed the "achievement" section has a partial translation in italian; i clicked on edit to fully translated it but in the editing menu, there's no text for the achievements,so i don't know how to change it. Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 04:37, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

I have no idea what you mean, but please always translate based on the English version. If you want to translate Obtaining Mann vs. Machievements, then create Obtaining Mann vs Machievements/it, copy the English version into it and then translate it. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 05:48, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
In the Mann vs Machine page (https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mann_vs._Machievements), there's a section called "Achievement" with all the related achievement for MVM mode, but if i click edit i don't get the achievement's texts to translate. i try to translate then the "How to" section, but when i modifly the achievement's title in the preview mode the achievement's image and title are replace by this text: [File:Template:Dictionary/achievements/mann vs. machievements/.executore-icon|64px|center|alt=Template:Dictionary/achievements/mann vs. machievements/.executore-title]] Template:Dictionary/achievements/mann vs. machievements/.executore-title
Template:Dictionary/achievements/mann vs. machievements/.executore-desc Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 06:26, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
Ah, now I got your problem!
Okay so for the first thing: The achievement texts are in the so called Dictionary. You can add them here: Template:Dictionary/achievements/mann vs. machievements. Just click on "Edit page", and then you can translate every string by adding "it: bibebdi babedi bupi" to every string, please consider the alphabetical order of the languages, so don't put it at the end. Please note: Only official translation belong in the dictionary! You find them in your game or for item names and so on also here: File:tf_italian.txt.
I don't really get your second problem. If you want to translate the how to, create this page and copy the English version. Please come back if you still got a problem :) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 07:05, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
To clarify how the dictionary thing works I made a sample addition for you here. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 07:10, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
I just finished to edi the Dictionary, but it still remain the same, it is normal? ah i put the "it:dfjdif" usually between the "HU" and the "KO" because some already translate achievement where put there, was it right? Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 08:46, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
Very well done! Give User:WindBOT some time to update everything, then you'll see the changes. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 08:59, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
you can see it? did i make mistakes? Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 09:05, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
Yea, check Mann vs. Machievements/it out, you can see it there. No, you did everything right! — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 09:07, 4 September 2016 (PDT)
Oh thank god, my finger hurts but it was worth it! i'm really happy, maybe if i have time tonight i'll translate the "How to" as well. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) • (contribs)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Actually, you did miss something on the second glance. I have no idea why you left out all the links, but I added them here :) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 09:32, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

looks like i've forgot to add these links, sorry next time i'll pay more attetion. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) • (contribs)
No problem. Don't forget the ~~~~ by the way ;) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 09:42, 4 September 2016 (PDT)

Hi, i translate the "How to" page for the Mann vs Machine italian wiki, and in the https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mann_vs._Machievements/it#Bugs i've corrected this word "può" was write "pùo" so i change it Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 12:51, 5 September 2016 (PDT)

I've corrected it. Please use the show preview button to see if you did anything wrong and to verify that everything works. Also, you forgot some links again. Good work nonetheless :) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 14:00, 5 September 2016 (PDT)

I am truly sorry, i'm trying my best to do a good job without errors, but this time it was a long traslation and i checked in the preview mode lots of content over and over but it looks like i checked in the wrong place, again sorry. Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 14:54, 5 September 2016 (PDT)

About the Italian Wiki

I checked the content of the italian Mann vs Machine page, there's a huge lack of information and there's no video section, i'm happy to traslate it, but it will take some time, it is okay anyway? Pyro BackBURNER96 (talk) 15:12, 5 September 2016 (PDT)

No problems! Take your time. :) — Tark lm(pt-br) 15:17, 5 September 2016 (PDT)

Coal Town

Playing Mann vs Machine, near the diorama in Coal Town, there's a hole, i create a server and use the "sv_cheats 1" command and then "noclip" to enter and discover a new explorable area, it looks like a very small tunnel and there's nothing there, but i checked in the english page and i don't remember anything about a "secret room" under the diorama, so i'm here to ask if i should take screenshots and add them on the page.

You should ask this question here: Talk:Coal Town, instead of your own discuss page. McRela Holy Mackerel.png 06:11, 6 September 2016 (PDT)
