Şapka Açıklama Yarışması, 24 Ağustos 2010'da yapılan bir yarışmaydı.

Daha önceki TF2 yarışmalarının bilgisayar modellemesinde ortalamanın üzerinde bir beceriye sahip olmadığı yönündeki eleştirileri takiben, TF2 ekibi bir bir konu açarak yarışmayı duyururlar. Amaç, Steam forumlarında kayıtlı olmakla birlikte toplumun çoğunluğunun erişebileceği bir yarışma sunmaktı. Yarışmadaki amaç ise, topluluk üyelerine o sırada mevcut olan çeşitli oyun içi öğelere ve şapkalara açıklamalar yazması için imkân vermekti.

Valve tarafından seçilen yani kazanan açıklama, oyun içi ilgili öğeye resmi bir açıklama olarak eklendi.

Kuralları ve Tarihi

Şapka Açıklama Yarışması'nın son başvuru tarihi 27 Ağustos 2010'du. Gönderiler Steam Kullanıcılarının Forumu'nda kendi uygun konularında yayınlandı.

Gönderme kuralları

  • Öğenin kısa ve ilginç açıklamasını 75 kelimeden daha az bir şekilde bilgi verin.
  • Açıklamanın tek yazarı sadece siz olmalısınız ve materyalin size özgün olması gereklidir.
  • Her öğe için kazanan açıklamalar TF2 ekibi tarafından belirlenecek ve oyun içi kullanılacaktır.
