Help

I would edit, but I don't know which is correct. Under Charge Targe strategy it says "crits with whatever weapon used" in last 25%, another says just with melee. JackWestJr 08:16, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

I believe only melee is correct. unless something has changed since summer. K-Mac 21:55, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I have a question: Is it possible to break down this article into separate sections such as weapon strategy, map strategy, and general? I mean, I know it's possible, but I wanted to ask someone first so that my changes didn't just get deleted right after I posted them. - Stalin the Warboss

Cleanup is already ongoing, in fact the map specific strategies was just moved to their respective map strategy page. See Category:Map_strategy Ailure 08:58, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering: should we state an example combination consisting of grenade launcher + sticky jumper and ullapool caber? I mean, we already have the rocket jumper for the soldier as an example combination. Would it be appropriate to put this combination (above) or all the strategies involving these 3 weapons already stated under "Sticky Jumper" in community demoman strategy? Is it possible to put a mention of fresh stickybombs' 5-second damage penalty here (and also in the launcher's article)? Completely removed "General" section

It simply had weapon specific comments regarding the stock loadout and contained all of the same information that the weapon-specific articles further down the page had. So I removed it. --Manta 07:34, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

Meet the Demoman

In Valve's "meet the demoman" you can see a lot of techniques that actually in-game. Maybe we should refer to it. Most of the strategies are mentioned on the page, but i would like to have the technique in the final scene mentioned. Here the RED demoman sticks his bombs around a doorway where the BlU team does not see them until it is too late. The page already says to put stickies where enemies can't see them, but it may help to be more specific. New players could easily underestimate the range of stickybombs, but this trick works on large doorways as well, provided all sides are covered. I am just saying that new players can learn a lot from the movie, and I have always found it very helpful. The part where a scout and the demoman run straight at a lvl 3 sentry, sets a bad example though. Other than that it's a good demonstration. K-Raider NL 07:58, 6 February 2012 (PST)

Ehhh... That video, being a movie as opposed to recorded playing, and not being strategy based, is probably not a good thing to cite. Removal of the Swashbuckler's Set section

It's pretty redundant considering the only gameplay affecting item in it already has a section on the page. That said, should it be removed ?

All of the other sets have gameplay affecting items with sections. It's a set, just like all other sets and therefore should (and almost certainly will) remain on the page. Atonement 18:41, 28 February 2012 (PST)
On agreement, the Basic Strategy pages have had "Item Sets" changed to "Item Set Effects", which meant that all cosmetic item sets were removed. I initiated that movement, but I don't monitor the Community Strategy pages. Only a handful of people do, given the huge amounts of stuff on said pages. But that is "basic" Strategy. Community is a tad bit more in depth, and allows more people to throw in their two cents. While I agree Community and Basic should have the same essential layout, I feel it's not appropriate to remove this set, especially as people may give tips on how to use this set with different secondaries.Atonement 16:49, 29 February 2012 (PST)
I don't feel like arguing the point again, seeing as I'm the one that monitors Basic strategy. I'd attempt to monitor Community strategy, but there's too much inconsistency that would require a full revision. Item sets that lack effects are simply binding the player to a certain loadout. There is no special strategy for telling someone to equip the Booties and Bottle. -- InShane 19:47, 29 February 2012 (PST)
In my honest opinion, while I think that having a One Thousand and One Demoknights section is redundant, because of the lack of set effect and its mention on the weapon combinations section, a link to Item_sets#Demoman won't hurt, so that the reader acknowledges the existance of other item sets. Pyro clearing Sentries and Heavies

Offense section reads:

Along with the Spy and the Pyro, the Demoman is a team's best hope in clearing enemy Sentry Guns and Heavies.

Pyro beeing close range class doesn't really fit the role of Sentry nest destroyer. And the Heavy of all classes is the hardest target for the Pyro. The whole statement makes no sense. ЫъГЬ 03:17, 29 March 2013 (PDT)

Incorrect Kill Icon on Splendid Screen Summary Title

Massive improvements needed for a lot of the stuff on the article

Yes, a lot of the info on this article (and most of the other class community strategy articles) are very, very outdated, thus I, would enjoy if someone also did anything to it so I wouldn't just have to deleted all the outdated text and add my own because I don't want other people read and acknowledge all the outdated info...
