无差别兵种更新，正式名称为首次无特定兵种更新，是第一个没有对指定兵种进行更新的主要更新。此次更新的重点与前几次的更新不同；无差别兵种更新并没有加入新的武器或成就，而是添加了新的饰品、游戏模式和地图，同时还对游戏中现有的大量错误进行修复和细微的调整。

无差别兵种更新页面于 2009年8月11日正式开始，并在TF2 官方网站上发布了帖子：“现在这玩意是我们的了！（This one's ours now!）”。此更新于 8月13日向所有玩家公布。

  • 第一天（8月11日）：发布了竞技场地图：Offblast以及 18 个新饰品。
  • 第二天（8月12日）：发布了新游戏模式——山丘之王，以及首个山丘之王模式地图：Viaduct，随后又发布了两个山丘之王模式地图：Sawmill和Nucleus。
  • 第三天（8月13日）：发布了控制点模式地图：Yukon，夺旗模式变种地图Sawmill，以及补丁说明列出了添加/更改、地图修改、物品重建、修复，和社区提议。
