{{subst:void| This template should always be substituted. Please change {{Welcome}} to {{subst:Welcome}} }}==Hello, {{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}!== Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your [[User:{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}|user page]] if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User {{subst:BASEPAGENAME}} to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

Talking with myself

Hi. Cagrimanoka (talk) 02:48, 21 March 2016 (PDT)

Every-day-templates for use as translator

Hey Cagrimanoka, you're doing some good work on the tr section. The use of templates is useful and sometimes obligatory. I'll compile a small list of templates that you can/should use when translating pages, as for most new translators templates are the most confusing thing. You might already know them, but it would do no harm to read through it. In none of the listed templates you need to insert your language code like "/tr", it's all done automatically.

  • "{{item name|Soldier's Stash}}": This template automatically inserts the name of the item found in the Dictionary in your language. You should always use this template to express the name of an item instead of manually translating it. This is especially necessary for new items as the translators on STS need some time to officially translate the item names. Also, if an item name gets changed, with this template it automatically changes on every page.
  • "{{item link|Soldier's Stash}}": Same as above, but produces not only the name but also a link to the item's page.
  • "{{update link|Tough Break Update}}": This template links to the update page in the correct language, the name of the Update is also automatically changed to your language and is taken out of the Dictionary.

I will also add the welcome template to the top of your discussion page (also if you most likely already know what it tells you), no idea why the WelcomeBot didn't add it automatically.
