놀랠 노자는 스카웃을 위한 근접 무기 입니다. 이것은 물고기를 빛 바랜 신문지에 둘러쌓은 뒤 손에 잡기 편하게 고무밴드로 고정시킨 형태를 하고 있습니다. This weapon is identical to the default Bat in statistics and taunt. However, being slapped by the fish is considered so humiliating that the kill list displayed in the HUD will record every connecting swipe, displaying the corresponding number of hits dealt. Should an enemy be killed by the Holy Mackerel, the kill feed will proclaim "FISH KILL!".

- The weapon is altered to not display the hit message concerning disguised Spies.
- A hit with the fish no longer counts as a kill, as this would cause problems with achievements and some statistics systems.

오류들
- The flipped viewmodel version of this weapon appears as if it has been turned inside out. [1]
- Upon hitting a Spy who has the Dead Ringer activated, the kill icon will only display one fish hit and not a fish kill. This can be used as an easier way to detect Dead Ringer Spies.
- 메딕에게 힐을 받고 있을때, every slap counts as an assist for the Medic.
Trivia
- The Holy Mackerel is always a Level 42 Fish; the number 42 might be a reference to Douglas Adams' book series, Template:W, in which 42 is considered to be the answer to "Life, The Universe, and Everything."
- Two further references are the books Template:W (of which the title was taken from a line in the original book), a title in the book series and Template:W, a posthumous collection of various essays and an unfinished novel written by Adams shortly before his death.
- 24 is the maximum amount of hits one can make on a single target in the kill feed before the hit announcement disappears.
- "Holy Mackerel!" is also an expression of surprise found commonly in comedy TV shows, as well as cartoons and other children's TV shows.
- The Holy Mackerel will not add to the kill feed when hitting an Engineer building or the Horseless Headless Horsemann.
- Before a patch, the Holy Mackerel would have a kill feed icon with "x1" when destroying a building.
- The texture file of The Holy Mackerel reveals that the newspaper The Holy Mackerel is carried in is named "The Gravel Pit".
