"It will be distributed to those who listen live to the Kritzcast Podcast on Sunday June 12, 2011."

I think it's important that this gets sourced ASAP, since hundreds of people are eyeballing this article. FlotsamX 00:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

I removed it. Not worth getting people hyped. Balladofwindfishes 00:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
See User_talk:Smashbrother101#Lo-Fi_Longwave --CruelCow (talk) 00:52, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Well, when he does find a source, we'll add it. Until then, don't. Balladofwindfishes 00:54, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Please don't add this fact as it's pure speculation. Same thing happened with the Wiki Cap. --Picard talk 09:40, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

What time is this show being aired? I assume itl be rather late my time. --  Swarfega  T  C  09:37, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. -- Swarfega  T  C  09:43, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Just an fyi, that is 1 day + however many hours, it fooled me into staying up late. :O ~eps 17:25, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
B00bies already has the Lo-fi in vintage form click - Bpc908 00:30, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Their server is currently down, probably due to everyone mashing F5 trying to get a free hat. It may never air... Katt 19:53, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
They said that if you were in their Steam group before the podcast went live, you have an opportunity. The majority won't be getting anything. Slyphoria 13:50, 12 June 2011 (PDT)
People were trolled harder then anything Valve has done by this. Katt 20:55, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
KritzKast never promised us anything, I'm sure for KK fans this hat is awesome. Everyone else who was expecting something else was just speculating, that's not KK's fault, it's yours. TheCarpe 20:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I didn't realize my internet team-based shooting game's accessorization feature was for little internet cliques. My bad. Katt 21:06, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

SPUF is over here, please use that to discuss the hat itself. --CruelCow (talk) 21:03, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Need more pics

Have anyone taken more pictures so we can show all of the classes using this hat? Cuz it would help this article alot. Stunned.png The Noble Scout (T/C) 09:34, 2011 (UTC)

Not only that put the hat is also paintable, at least thats what the article states. So if we could get these up the page would be look great. I would do them myself but my graphics card is still pretty messed up. User M-NINJA Signature.png 16:41, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Are there guidelines on how these images are normally taken? JakeyBoy 21:54, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
That depends on what you mean by "these images". For uploading pictures there is a set of literal guidelines that can be found here: click me. Other than that there isn't a real set of guidelines. Just make sure that they all use AA. User M-NINJA Signature.png 22:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Lo-Fi Painted Variants

I noticed that some one removed the painted variants section because for the reason of "hat is not paintable according to the schema and the game itself". The games item test says otherwise. s1Q79.png Still think the hat isn't paintable? User M-NINJA Signature.png 22:25, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

You have paint hat, because it's white. Base color of ALL paintable hat is white. You can change color by editing VMT file. I can paint Cheater's Lament with VMT files, but this hat still unpaintable. But tower isn't painted on your screen. It seems, hat will be paintable at the nearest time. - Grand-O-Rand Painted Détective Noir 694D3A.png · (Talk) 22:32, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
The why doesn't the same thing happen for the milkman? It's white User M-NINJA Signature.png 22:33, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
That's a valid point. maggosh 23:01, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
The game itself (and the item schema) says it isn't paintable. If the hat were in a backpack, you wouldn't be able to paint it. There are a few other items that can also be painted in itemtest but not in-game. Highlights include Scout's MNC stuff, Planeswalker goggles, and the Hero's Hachimaki. Balladofwindfishes 23:48, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Someone decided to mark this fact as a bug which it clearly isn't

the KritzKast people got vintage hats, thought I should mention that.

I added this to the main section, should it go in trivia? Herring101 16:48, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Don't forget to add ~~~~ to the end of your message. About vintage hats: http://www.optf2.com/b00bies , one from 6 admins in KK steam group. Link to the item: http://optf2.com/item/318438978 kreafan 05:48, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
well it got removed anyway, so whatever Herring101 16:48, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Everyone from this one gets Vintage hats. Here's mine to prove: http://optf2.com/item/319123807. Slyphoria 15:45, 12 June 2011 (PDT)

Alternative Link to the Hat

Attainability

According to Kritzkast episode 121, to obtain the hat one must meet these requirements-- Complete the Kritzkast Lore Quiz and be a member of the Kritzkast group prior to June 12 15 minutes prior to the podcast going live. I confirmed this information by asking b00bies. -- Psychopath User Psychopath avatar.png 21:18, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

According to Agro, the deadline was 7:40pm BST -- Psychopath User Psychopath avatar.png 21:21, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
But how many will be given out? I failed the quiz (thought I got them all, but guess I missed one), so now it's not letting me re-take the quiz for another 24 hours (apparently). Am I pretty much screwed? Can anyone find out the number that will be distributed? Noibn 21:30, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Again, this is a page for discussing the article. Please use the Steam forums for questions about the quiz and that sort of thing. -- En Ex (talk) 21:32, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
According to the recording, there is a limited number. They just have not specified how many. They have, however, said that there generally should be more than enough. -- Psychopath User Psychopath avatar.png 21:44, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I thought they clearly said 1000. maggosh 22:22, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
They did not say 1,000. They did not give out a number. However, Jimbomcb did say that at the current rate of hat drops, they will finish dropping in one week. He also said he expected the drops to "peter out" over time, and estimated that in reality it will take around two weeks to finish. FlotsamX 22:25, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
He said 'more than' 1000. That's the only time he's mentioned that number, it's in the 4 digit range, though. -- Psychopath User Psychopath avatar.png 22:34, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
The absence of a five digit counter does not mean that the hat drops will stop at a four digit number. FlotsamX 22:35, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I asked him to confirm, it doesn't go into the 5 digits. -- Psychopath User Psychopath avatar.png 23:07, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Not being paintable is not a bug

So whoever keeps adding that it is, quit it.

I'd edit the page and remove this nonsense, but I'm not allowed to. Yays.

--Kazuo 23:29, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

I agree. Unused content is not a bug. FlotsamX 23:31, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
See Planeswalker Goggles, Hero's Hachimaki and Superfan. If it has a VTF for painting and it is not used, we decided to call it a bug awhile ago. I don't exactly know why though. Maybe we should list it in trivia instead? Balladofwindfishes 23:33, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Calling it a bug implies that is an actual, unintended error on the part of Valve. I highly doubt this was any kind of mistake, and in any case, it has no effect on the actual item in the game itself whatsoever. The hat was intended to be unpaintable, at least for now, and it is. I don't think the fact that there are paint vtfs even manages to qualify as trivia, personally. Kazuo 23:38, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
We catalog unused sounds and models though Balladofwindfishes 23:39, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
I agree that this isn't considered a bug but i must say that I also don't think that it's really trivia. So i propose a happy medium. Add a new section called Unused Content. User M-NINJA Signature.png 23:44, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
That would be a solution I guess. It would also be the place to put the unused sounds for the Fan o War and various other things. Balladofwindfishes 23:46, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Well I opened a discussion on the subject in-regards of my idea for current and future pages. User M-NINJA Signature.png 23:55, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Trivia

Should I add that it is the only item in the game which is not obtainable in a standard unique variant, only vintage?

PlausibleSarge 07:10, 13 June 2011 (UTC)!

We have to be sure enought i think. currently its just vintage but it could happend someone got it in normal aswell. Stunned.png The Noble Scout (T/C) 08:14, 2011 (UTC)
Well, currently ther are 1 or 2 people with a non-vintage version, but these are the radio hosts themselves. Currently there is no legitimate way to get a non-vintage version of this item without manually putting one in your account PlausibleSarge 07:36, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

"Can't stop the signal"

Why was the allusion to Firefly/Serenity removed when it is so blatant? Atmo 08:54, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Gallery

I made a screenshot of the Kritzkast page when you earn the hat. I put a link to the image here. It could be used for a future gallery section. Nemesis BLU.png DaTa 12:20, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes, we need an image of the countdown, an image of success, of failure, and one for people who do not qualify. Balladofwindfishes 12:38, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Ok, I uploaded the images when you answer the quiz correctly, when you make mistakes in the quiz and when you are not eligible. Nemesis BLU.png DaTa 15:52, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

File:Kitzkast_Congrats.png needs to be reuploaded sans the "Steam Issues!" message. maggosh 17:09, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I never had this problem before, so I don't know how to solve it. The original pictures can be found here. Nemesis BLU.png DaTa 17:32, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

If you retake the picture now, it should show up without the message. maggosh 17:37, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
