The L'etranger also adds 15% cloak to your cloak meter every time you shoot someone with it, at the cost of it doing 20% less damage compared to the vanilla Revolver.

It isn't in the description yet.

To Test

  • 15 = 15%? Pictogram tick.png Done
  • Works on enemy buildings? Pictogram tick.png Done
  • Works on cloaked spies? Pictogram tick.png Done
  • accuracy is same as revolver? Pictogram tick.png Done
  • Better Damage stats Pictogram cross.png Not Done
  • Fills all watches the same? Pictogram cross.png Not Done

I just did some testing, and found out that it in fact does work on cloaked spies, does not work on buildings, accuracy I belive (May be wrong) as the revolver, and it does fill all the watches by 15%. I am not sure whether or not if it fills the watches the same though. Jeff AndonutsJEFF used Bottle Rocket! 21:08, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

What about "Works on disguised spies"? —BobMathrotus (talk) 10:13, 4 July 2012 (PDT)

Pronunciation?

Could be a helpful tip for those curious about the name. Would it be "Le-tron-je?" Magma Spire 00:59, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Lay-tron-jay, there's supposed to be an accent on the e, as in L'Étranger --Firestorm 01:03, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
I wouldn't say that. It's more of 'Leih-trahn-gei'. English people just can't get the accent right. It's normal. - MLGM 13:02, 2 May 2012 (PDT)
even that makes me cringe, but i think its the best english equivalent without using http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English which most people don't understand anyway. i could do a sound recording of how it's pronounced, but i just have high school french under my belt, so it still wouldn't be 100% accurate, is there any way we could grab someone who speaks it fluently to to a 1 second sound snippet with how it should be spoken? RiVenoX 15:45, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
What's wrong with lay-tron-jay? I too have high school French and that's how I thought it was --Firestorm 15:46, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm being informed by the more Frenchily inclined that there is a slightly different way of pronouncing it, I'll see what I can do. --Firestorm 15:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
It would be more like Lay-tron-zyay --Tinker 16:03, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Found a lovely French girl singing it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3kgVSBzxrw , indeed more like zyay than jay. --Tinker 16:06, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
-zyay? Why the Z? -- Vi3trice (talk) 16:09, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Because there's a noticable Z in front of the yay. In French, -ger almost always becomes -zyay. If you want to be 100% sure I could probably check a dictionary later. --Tinker 17:20, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
I think the example on Template:W is the best: the "g" in the "-ger" part of the word should sound sound like the "s" in "measure". Either way, unless we directly insert the IPA pronunciation guide (which is /e.tʁɑ̃.ʒe/, in case you were wondering) or a clip of someone actually saying the word, this will never be obvious to people who don't speak French.-- User Alex2539 Sig.png -- 17:29, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
I've been speaking french for 14 years now and your measure example couldn't be more correct. Indeed the "g" sounds like that when it's followed by "e". Also, the word accent (emphasis) is on the first part, on "ét". TFUser 15:16, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Article name

I think the name should be L'Etranger and not L'Étranger because that's how it's in-game. Same thing with one of the paint names that has been mistakenly spelled incorrectly. You shouldn't change it's name either... --SandeProElite 13:20, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

We need a solid policy on this for stuff like the Tough Guy's Toque to remain consistent with. MK 15:48, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Updates to release history

I understand that this update has been applied to most weapons pages but isn't it a bit redundant since the information is already stated in the infobox? I am referring to the input of the update the weapon was released with on the release history section. Is it just me? JakeSanchard 18:27, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

I once tried to remove stuff because it was already in the infobox. It didn't end well.--Focusknock 18:41, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
When people read the history, they generaly don't read the whole article, but only the part they are looking for. So, I think the history has to be as complete as possible, and indenpendant of the rest of the article. Jay 21:01, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Additional Trivia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxZQL_Is0mE

Take note of the time Felicity points her revolver at Mustafa. See anything, ahem, familiar about it? We already knew the Saharan Spy set took Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me as the inspiration for the Familiar Fez but to my knowledge, no one has pointed out the connection between this scene (with its revolver) and L'Etranger. The revolvers are both similar colors as well. Can someone please add this? KajiVena of TheVille 03:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Hmmmm, slightly. The barrel of the gun is bigger though. —GeminiViRiS User GeminiViRiS Doubleface.jpg Talk · Contribs 03:06, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
We don't get a real up-close shot of the revolver so perhaps he mixed and matched. But I see the tan grip, silver barrel and distinctive sight. KajiVena of TheVille 04:08, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

3rd bug is false.

Forced DX8.0, started up Walkway, took a picture: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Henry_Spencer/screenshot/594704695974804488?tab=public

It has never NOT cloaked with me, and I play on 8.0/8.1 all the time. Unless someone can prove it is actually a legitimate bug, I'm going to remove it. -- Henry Spencer Backpack Gentleman's Gatsby.png 21:18, 9 December 2011 (PST)

Chromed Out

Another fact we can add to the Trivia section that differs L'etranger from a Nagant 1895 is that 1895s are not available in chrome. All 1895s that exist to my knowledge have not been chromed out like L'etranger here.--Magnum Force-Enforcer 16:37, 11 March 2012 (PDT)

Not really trivia. The weapons and items in TF2 have nearly universally been tricked out and modified in some ways. --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 15:28, 14 March 2012 (PDT)

Yeah but if you look at the Trivia now, it even lists some of the differences between L'etranger and the 1895. Why can't my info be invited to the party?--Magnum Force-Enforcer 15:41, 15 March 2012 (PDT)
