Certain weapons in Team Fortress 2 fire projectiles. Projectiles, unlike hitscan bullets, don't travel instantaneously—instead they travel at a set speed. (This speed differs depending on the weapon used to launch the projectile.) Because of this, however, the projectiles are not effected by lag compensation.

Reflecting Projectiles

  • The Pyro's Compression Blast can reflect projectiles. These 'airblasted' projectiles inflict Mini-Crit damage and assume the Pyro's team colour to indicate a successful reflection. There are, however, exceptions. Syringes, for example, cannot be reflected at all. Stickybombs do not change colour or attain Mini-Crit status, and remain under the control of their original owner. Furthermore, whilst Jarate can be reflected, the mini-crit status has no effect whatsoever.
  • The Heavy can reflect grenades if he punches them with the KGB. This is difficult to pull off as grenades are a small target and will require very accurate timing.
  • The Scout's Sandman Ball can reflect other Sandman Balls if it makes contact while in the air.
  • Only the Sandman Ball and Grenades will bounce off of a surface; all other projectiles with either disappear or become lodged in the wall.
  • A Huntsman Sniper cannot remove arrows stuck in the wall to use for ammo.
