Sentry Buster

General

• Stick together! Teamwork here is vital.
• You can attack the enemy from afar, as well on a melee. He can only dangerous for the Engineer and his buildings.
• You must kill him as quickly as possible.
• Communicate! Alert your teammates of Sentry Buster’s whereabouts at all times.
• Never let your guard down. It can use a workaround to destroy the Engineer buildings.
• When fighting a Sentry Buster, be sure to have at least one Pyro with the Flamethrower or Degreaser equipped. An airblasting Pyro is possibly a Sentry Buster’s worst nightmare.
• When fighting a Sentry Buster used Power Up Canteen: Critical Hit Boost & Übercharge-boost.
• If a Sentry Buster starst to explode (it can explode if it reach the target sentry or if it lost all HP) and you stand near it just run away.

Scout

• Using the Force-A-Nature will usually knock back Sentry Buster at close range and will knock you back if you are airborne.
  • Be aware of where you knock Sentry Buster to. You don’t want to knock him straight into your Engineer.
• The Soda Popper's mini-crits can be activated any time you want to.
• Crit-a-Cola gives critical hits instead of mini-crits, allowing you to quickly deal high amounts of damage to Sentry Buster.
  • The Mini-Crit vulnerability is pointless as Sentry Buster will not attack players directly.
• The Atomizer is an upgrade in terms of evasion. Watch out for your health in that case, though.

Soldier

• If Saxton is too close, you can rocket jump to escape.
• If you have a lot of teammates, consider equipping the Buff Banner to help deal some extra damage to the stronger Sentry Buster.

Pyro

• Your air blast can prove to be invaluable.
• An easy way to alert your teammates of Sentry Buster’s presence is to light him on fire and make him more noticeable.

Demoman

• Plant stickies near an Engineer’s nest. If Sentry Buster gets near, detonate them.
• If you have the Scottish Resistance equipped, place one sticky near you, so you may escape when Sentry Buster comes after you.
• The Ullapool Caber is best used as a very last resort.

Heavy

• Stand on the Dispenser and helping defend the Engineer.

Engineer

• Put your other buildings far away from your main Sentry. This will allow them to live even if your Sentry was destroyed.
• As soon as Sentry Buster comes to your Sentry and starts preparing to explode grab your Sentry and run as fast as you can. Note that grabbing a Sentry at the late time will cause you and your Sentry to be destroyed.
  • If you was standing on the cliff try to fall off it with your Sentry. If the cliff is high enough you can survive even if you grabbed Sentry at the late time of Sentry Buster’s explode preparing animation. Note that under a cliff maybe a hordes of other robots so plan your retreat.
  • Place your sentry near a corner, once the Sentry Buster starts to detonate (you’ll know since it will start shuddering), pick up your sentry and run around the corner, the wall will protect you and your sentry from the Sentry Buster’s explosion.
• Some maps has a places which Sentry Buster can’t reach. You can try to put your Sentry there.
• If there are more then one Engineer on the map they can place their main Sentries away from each other to prevent destroing all of them by one Sentry Buster.

Medic

• Don’t hesitate to impose ÜberCharge in dangerous situations on the Engineer or yourself.

Sniper

• The best and most effective means would be to throw Jarate in Sentry Buster.
