“ | When things aren't just Dangerous, they're Danger-esque, block out UV rays with Homestar's killer shades. Remember, when walking away from an explosion, it's totally uncool to turn around to look at the carnage.

They are unlocked by defeating Strong Bad during a round in Template:W in which he has bought in with the item instead of cash.

Previous changes
- This misc item was made paintable and giftable.
Bugs
- The item has clipping issues when used with many hats, most noticeably the Hustler's Hallmark.
Trivia
- The shades come from Strong Bad's low-budget, Ed Wood-esque action series Dangeresque (consisting of only three films). Dangeresque Too (usually spoken as Dangeresque...Too?), Dangeresque's (Strong Bad) sidekick, played by Homestar Runner, wears these shades. They first show up in Strong Bad email #106: dangeresque 3.
- The model used ingame has some minor differences from the original cartoon's design. The Team Fortress version is white by default and doesn't have any lenses, whereas the cartoon version is more of a metallic styling.
- As well as being used in the cartoon, they were also featured in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Episode 4: Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective by Telltale.
- The official item description is a reference to the movie trope of turning away from explosions as they explode in slow-motion for dramatic effect.
- The ingame description references the poker term "splashing the pot," which means to haphazardly push or throw chips into the center of the table instead of keeping them separate from other players' chips. This practice is frowned upon, as it can make it difficult to account for the amount of chips anted.
