Why are you rollbacking?

Beaten and Bruised Class Gallery

1
ThatHatGuy (talkcontribs)

It was agreed on the talk page for the Beaten and Bruised to use the Ultra Violence style for the class galleries, since it showcases the injuries the most, and saves us from having to do several galleries. Remember that, if you choose to take images using that style, it removes the classes' default headgear. Also, your images for the Beaten and Bruised are consistently cropped improperly, which makes them appear smaller than they should be.

Tribute vs Statues

Sorry, if I was abrupt with the revert, Joker-. The decision under discussion is to either rename the page or to revert most of the first paragraph that I added.

Your recent uploads - Part 2

Hi, your image work has improved greatly after me and Vasya told you a few things, but there's still a few things to improve that I'm here to tell you.

The first is cropping. Some of your images aren't properly cropped and empty space takes up the image more than it should, this makes images in the pages to appear smaller than they should.

If you use GIMP to do these pictures, you can crop the image by going to Image -> Crop to Selection. But after that, try pressing Image -> Autocrop Image. This will, namely, autocrop the image, not leaving any unnecessary empty spaces.

The second thing is transparency. By looking at your Globetrotter image, you're simply removing the background from HLMV to do these, right? Well, there's a proper way to do these, that will properly remove background from translucent/transparent stuff.

This is how it should look like: File:Item icon Globetrotter.png. See that the transparent areas weren't removed. This is because the process I used from above.

For consistency's sake, it's recommended to always use this technique regardless if there's a translucent or transparent item. Especially when it comes to Sniper, which his glasses are always translucent.

Finally, speaking of the Globetrotter image, the default style is for the "Snow" style, so the Infobox image should use the Snow style instead.

Other than that, you've improved a lot, so thank you for listening our feedback.

Almost there, your recent uploads still have a bit of white background (they are translucid, but not 100% transparent). Make sure to take screenshots with the background having a full black color (RGB: 0 0 0), and another one with full white color (RGB 255 255 255).

I also noticed that your anti-alias isn't set to high at the moment, so I'll tell you what I did (when I recently installed Windows 10). If you use an AMD/ATI graphics card, right-click on your Desktop, go to AMD Radeon Settings. From there, click the "System" tab. Go to "Switchable Graphics"

From there, click on "Running Applications" and select "Installed Profiled Applications". Now click "Browse" and navigate to HLMV's folder and select hlmv.exe. hlmv.exe will now appear on the list, so click on the down arrow and set to "High Performance".

You will need to restart HLMV after doing this, in case you have it open while doing these settings.

If you use NVIDIA, you should try doing the same (you should look something like a "Profiled Application"). NVIDIA's control panel is also located in the same place, by right-clicking on your Desktop.

I found this on a random website, try following these steps: A9rh2wv.png

After doing that, it's possible that you get this problem. To fix it, view the "Gray cornea (issue with NVIDIA graphics cards mostly)" section from this page.

is there a method for an intel card?

Gabrielwoj (talkcontribs)

As far my knowledge goes, I think not. I went around and checked my Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, but nothing seems to make any changes. You can try adjusting some of the Anti-Aliasing settings on "3D" and see if that helps.

My computer has both Intel and AMD Radeon. You should check if that's the same case for you. Go to Windows Control Panel -> Device Manager, and expand the "Display adapters" section. See if you have more than just Intel (R) HD Graphics Family.

Last thing I have to ask you, is trying to do this, on the section that starts as "If your card isn't listed, go to Control Panel, open Device Manager...". This is a bit more complex, but I think you could try it. You'll need to find the "VendorID", "MinDeviceID" and "MaxDeviceID", instructions on how to get these values are on the page.

Also, I saw some of your images had Sniper, and I saw the default cubemap being used. and it's better to use an alternative texture instead. If you are not also using the "Fire texture" fix, download it as well.

Hello! Please read through Help:Model_Viewer and Help:Cosmetic_Images before uploading any new files. The ones you uploaded recently seem to have some problems with the quality - the pages I linked can help you with that. If you need any more assistance, feel free to use my talkpage or add me on Steam! Killicon flaming huntsman.png VasyaTheWizard (talk) • (contributions) 13:20, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

To fix the issue with anti-aliasing, you could try downloading my pre-configured dxsupport.cfg, from here User:Gabrielwoj/HLMVResources

It's a pre-configured dxsupport.cfg that should maximize all settings on all graphics cards. Go to your "Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin" and backup your current dxsupport.cfg, and then download this one and put on the same folder.

After downloading this, if you notice the classes corneas on their eyes appear gray, you can download the Gray cornea fix featured on the same page (but only if they look like this one in the middle)
