Medic gaming

Hi there,

so far your edits have been good, but even if you undo it immediately, adding "medic gaming" to a page is still considered vandalism.

'See also' - item relevance

Heyo,

Unfortunately, I had to revert some of your 'See also' additions as they did not appear relevant to the articles, but rather as an opinionated loadout choice.

Please keep items in the 'See also' section relevant to the item in question by only linking items with the most relevance. Generally, this only applies if the item is part of an item set, such as the Isolationist Pack.

Another case would be if you were to link an item with a similar theme—though, of course, this doesn't mean that you should link every sci-fi or military themed cosmetic on that specific article. User Wookipan Golden Strawberry.png Wookipan (talk | contribs) 19:55, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

They were parts of sets. They're listed as item sets on the Steam Workshop, even though they aren't listed as such in-game. I checked. Could you please tell me which ones you reverted so I can double-check? AaronTheAllStar (talk) 23:27, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Please keep the discussion in one place, i.e. replies should be kept on the original talk page entry as it's quite inconvenient going back-and-forth between talk pages.
Workshop item sets don't count as official item sets and aren't necessarily relevant to the item, in the same fashion as why we don't include Workshop trivia in the first place—it is wholly redundant.
Moreover, Vintage Merryweather and Whiskered Gentleman weren't contributed to the Steam Workshop, so I fail to see how they're related despite being shipped in the same update. I even did some brief research to see if this was an actual/common loadout combination, but it yielded no results.
I've reverted all additions except for Battle Boonie and Vitals Vest as they share a similar theme. I see you made some new additions to Rifleman's Regalia and Classy Capper, and those additions are fine as well, since they also share a similar theme. The case of the Vintage Merryweather and Whiskered Gentleman was actually my opinion. I have no idea why I chose that one.
Also, I've noticed that the main reason most of the Steam Workshop sets that get implemented don't become official in-game sites is that Valve doesn't add the whole set for some reason.
One last thing, could you please link to the specific ones you reverted? I don't remember which ones I did. AaronTheAllStar (talk) 15:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Any edits you've had reverted should appear under your Notices, located in the top-right link navigation next to your Alerts (bell icon).
You can also look through your Contributions, which can also be found in the link navigation next to Log out or by using alt-shift-y as hotkeys.
Since you did enquire for the specific articles, the articles in question were: Whiskered Gentleman, Vintage Merryweather, A Brush with Death, Ward and Slick Cut. User Wookipan Golden Strawberry.png Wookipan (talk | contribs) 20:23, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you. If I remember correctly, the Workshop descriptions of the A Brush with Death, Ward, and Slick Cut stated that they were part of the same "war crimes Medic set". AaronTheAllStar (talk) 19:58, 3 May 2021 (UTC)\
I checked. They all share the exact description "part of my war crimes medic set" and were all made by Sparkwire. Checkmate. AaronTheAllStar (talk) 20:01, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
I was quite aware that they are part of Workshop item sets, but as I explicitly stated in my second message, Workshop item sets aren't official item sets, and thus not noted. The redundancy of what the item creator(s) considers an item set is irrelevant to the wiki if it isn't seen as such by official means or has any similarities in terms of theme. No ordinary reader would know that items such as the Slick Cut, Ward and Brush with Death would be part of an item set or share any form of relevance without having visited the Workshop page first, whereas items as Rifleman's Regalia and Classy Capper can easily be told by mere observation.
I'll kindly ask that you revert your changes once more, and try not to be so hasty as to add them back next time an issue arises. Thanks! User Wookipan Golden Strawberry.png Wookipan (talk | contribs) 23:11, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Alright, fine. I'll revert it. AaronTheAllStar (talk) 13:02, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
