Gargoyle Locations

Should we get images for locations of the Gargoyle Souls, like we have for the gifts? It would help inform some people of it so they don't spend 5 minutes wandering around like idiots looking for them (like I have alot). ClockworkSpirit2343 21:41, 31 October 2015 (PDT)

Anyone who stumbles upon this task, good luck, for some reason almost all of the spots are stored by valve on the GC, some of my research is summarized in this thread on alliedmodders. TL;DR there is a map entity for them but it is rarely used, cannot be displayed in game due to it being deleted on load even if the map does have it (still findable in hammer), and is pretty much required to retrieve them from playing on valve servers during the event. Does anyone have a shot of the non-class emblems? I'm curious to see which they picked for Saxton and The Administrator.

Leveling Up

I would love to know what is the point of leveling up the Soul Gargoyle, and whatever the Gargoyle does whenever it levels up (Other than changing the look). Anyone know? Festive Fat Pootis (talk) 13:22, 22 October 2016 (PDT)

The Soul Gargoyle really has no use. It's just there for tracking your halloween missions and points. It's merely aesthetics and serves really no other purpose. It's the same as the Operation coins. tracking only. Ashes (talk) 13:32, 22 October 2016 (PDT)

New ranks table?

With today's patch adding a whole bunch of new ranks to the Soul Gargoyle (and so many of them using the golden gargoyle image currently associated with the Happy Gargoyle), I think the ranks table needs a revamp. Instead of showing the Gargoyle's picture with every rank, I believe we should revamp the ranks table to be more like the Duck Journal ranks table, which just shows the rank name; and state the MP needed to change the Gargoyle's model in the gallery captions or article summary. -MarioMaster2008 (talk) 14:27, 25 October 2016 (PDT)

New Levels for Soul Gargoyle?

I have recently discovered that my soul gargoyle has a new level which is called "Pleased Soul Gargoyle". I also noticed that I need 6 000 souls for the next level up. This is worth editing, right?

How to get Soul Gargoyle

Many players have been asking how to get the Soul Gargoyle and said that the wiki page didn't say. I've updated the text to indicate that any player logging in during an officialScream Fortress event receives a Soul Gargoyle but not when TF2 is simply in Halloween mode.

I am not surprised by their questions in this "Event". Pease pay attention to them and try to find out and report when the Soul Gargoyles actually drop to the new players. I wouldn't panic about the new players getting their Soul Gargoyles until they don't drop after the Patch.

I think your edit to the article has basis in speculation, but I don't have the time to offer anything better. The issue is relying on the term Halloween mode which is a speculative term coined by the community or editors. It should be clear now is that the term Halloween mode doesn't match what it claims to be in the article ( that article is overdue for an overhaul, at least). No Halloween mode activates the bosses; the bosses are integral to the maps they spawn in and they spawn anytime of the year that those maps are hosted. This holiday makes it even clearer -- features of the Halloween holiday have been activated in stages. Yesterday, the Halloween restricted Cosmetics were activated. Also the soul counting function of the Soul Grgoyles was activated ( unless I missed the mark and Soul counting on haunted maps is active all year round). It wasn't until today that the old maps were activated on the Valve servers. The Halloween contracts have not been activated yet. When will the teased new maps and new cosmetics be released? My guess is there is at least one pending patch that will release those, I would wait until then (or the contract drop) to look for the new players to get their Soul Gargoyles. Adding more Maps for Soul Gargoyle Locations?

I've recently found out how to find the Soul Gargoyle spawn locations in Hammer and have already started making a map for Harvest Event. What I want to know is if this is something that is needed or should be done, as well as any guidelines for doing so. --Firechaos70 (talk) 21:17, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Probably best if we make a template for these images beforehand, as currently the images are massive and taking up a lot of space. You can create the images already, though, if you give them a consistent naming scheme such as "[map name] Gargoyle Locations.png" that would be great. As for a tutorial, you can write one on your user space here.

I've created a quick table here, the images should have the naming scheme there, I'll move the other images at some point but feel free to upload the others. You can add rows to the table too, it should be quite easy. If a map has pickups in the Underworld, add "| underworld = yes".
