Do you have a deep concerning invincibility complex? Are you crying for a fashion statement that just screams "Oh please shoot me!"? Then just before you go out to get yourself plugged full of lead, make sure you are sporting the Grenadier's Softcap!
Grenadier's Softcap publicity blurb

The Grenadier's Softcap, often shortened to just Softcap, is a community-created cosmetic item for the Soldier. It is a worn black GI fatigue cap, complementing the grungy textures used in the 'Tank Buster' pack.

Trivia

  • A grenadier is a soldier who specializes in handling grenades and other explosives. Grenadiers were a common rank in the German army in the Second World War.
  • The softcap is more commonly known as a field cap or patrol cap. It is usually worn by military personnel with work uniforms when a combat helmet is not required. They can also be worn underneath modern helmets to provide shade for the wearer.
  • An early concept of the hat, pictured in the gallery below, reveals that it was originally camouflaged and had an orange-and-black skull emblem attached to the front left side.
