Trivia

  • The term conquistador mostly refers to Spanish adventurers, who journeyed to conquer lands in America. Additionally, "conquistador" translates literally from Spanish and Portuguese as "conqueror".
  • The hat was originally based on a conquistador hat featured in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Though originally intended for the Demoman, the hat fit badly with the Demoman's default hat. The creator subsequently chose the Soldier to wear the hat, citing his adventurous and up-front position in battle as well as the similarity of his nature with historic conquistadors.[1]
