A Christmas map is any one of a series of Team Fortress 2 maps released specifically for activation during annual Smissmas events, during which these maps are hosted by Valve's Team Fortress 2 servers in celebration of the Christmas season (referred to as Smissmas in-game). There is no particular Smissmas game mode. Rather, a Smissmas map is usually a Winter version of a previously released map with added festive decorations. With Smissmas events activated, the Smissmas versions can provide some event-specific game mechanics that are active only during the events (such as gift drops).
The first released Smissmas maps were Snowfall, which is the Smissmas version of Landfall, SnowVille, a Player Destruction version of Sawmill, and Wutville. The first batch of Smissmas maps were released in the Smissmas 2020 update, with subsequent maps being released in the Smissmas 2021 update. Smissmas maps may be activated year-round on individual community servers.
